Motor (battery powered)

Momcozy wireless breast pumps provide an innovative and convenient alternative to traditional breast pumps. With a battery-powered motor, the wireless pump is incredibly convenient and offers a good battery life – most users report being able to enjoy the convenience of wireless pumping for 3-4 sessions before needing to recharge. The wireless pump has plenty of settings for different pumping needs, making it great for anyone wanting the best experience tailored to their needs. Furthermore, with its relatively lightweight design, momcozy wireless pumps are much more comfortable than traditional bulky models on the market.

Duckbill Valve

The duckbill valve is a key component of the breast pump and can help to prevent leaks while pumping. Momcozy’s breast pumps come with an adjustable silicone valve for leak-free pumping, something that many breastfeeding moms worry about.

Collection Cup

The collection cup is the other main component of the breast pump and is where milk will be collected when pumping. Momcozy’s collection cups are BPA free and food grade, which helps to ensure that milk stays uncontaminated while it’s being pumped out. The collection cups also have a closed system design, meaning that milk won’t be able to get backed up into the motor or other parts of the pump. This not only helps prevent milk spills, but also helps in keeping your milk clean and safe.

Breast Shield and Flange

This is the part that needs to fit snugly on your breast so that you can ensure there is no leakage when you are pumping. If the breast shield does not fit well, you can purchase the correct flange size so that it can be adjusted to your breasts.

Connector & Diaphragm

These parts are essential to the wearable breast pump because they help direct the milk toward the collection cup and also allow the wireless breast pump to be a closed system. The pump parts of this breast pump are all made of food grade silicone and BPA free plastic, so you can be sure that it is safe for you and your baby.

Different Modes Of the Momcozy Wearable Breast Pump

There are two different modes: Expression Mode and Stimulation mode. There are also five to nine different intensity settings (from low to high).

Expression Mode

Expression mode uses long, constant suction and is best used when the milk flow or letdown has already come in. It is designed to help empty out your breast and maximize the amount of breast milk pumped during a letdown.

Stimulation Mode

Stimulation mode makes use of short, quick suctions in order to mimic baby nursing. It is used to stimulate a letdown, especially at the beginning of the pumping session.

Intensity Settings:

There are about five to nine suction levels, depending on the model you have. For beginners, it is good to use the lowest setting and work your way up. I found that when I have gotten used to breastfeeding my daughter for quite some time, I would go straight into the highest setting with no issues.

My Personal Experience

I first found out about Momcozy breast pump because I was sick and tired of using a plug-in breast pump, such as a Medela pump. I was also tired of being stuck at a pumping station. I felt like I was tied to the outlet, and honestly, it’s not fun when you have a newborn, and have to pump and feed baby constantly. So naturally, I looked for a wearable breast pump.

However, the first time I looked for wearable breast pumps, I only found other portable breast pumps that are very expensive, such as the Willow breast pump and the Elvie breast pump. These breast pumps were way too expensive for me, although I did contemplate purchasing them because I was so desperate!

After a while, I saw an ad for momcozy breast pump on social media, which is one of the popular hands free breast pumps, for a fraction of the price of the more expensive wearable breast pumps. So, I pulled the trigger.

Moms looking for a breast pump need to look no further than this portable breast pump. The Momcozy Wearable Breast Pump is more convenient than ever and provides all of the necessary features any mom needs. The sleek design makes it easy to attach and use while you go about your day, and the adjustable pressure settings ensure that you’re pumping perfectly every time. It has great battery life and the pump motor works great for something so affordable. If you are considering exclusively pumping, this wireless breast pump will be a lifesaver for you.

Compared to traditional pumps, momcozy wearable breast pumps are much lighter and require less parts to set up. What sets this wearable pump apart from traditional breast pumps is that they are designed to fit into your pumping bra or nursing bra without needing to be plugged into an outlet so you can easily wear them while you go about your day.

This is especially helpful when you’re in the office or running errands – you don’t have to sacrifice your time, and you can simply pump wherever and whenever you need without having to stop and gather all the pieces of a traditional pump.

The pros and cons

Pros

  • Portable! You can still pump while doing things around the house such as cooking, vacuuming, filling up my water bottle or peeing!
  • The pump is able to extract a good amount of breast milk from each breast.
  • Affordable – it is comparable in price if not slightly cheaper than the plug in breast pumps we know and love, like the Philips pump or the Medela pump.
  • Good battery life: the battery lasts a while and don’t need to be charged after every use.
  • Fairly easy to use and clean – once you get the hang of it, it is fairly easy use and to clean.

Cons:

  • A little loud: although the noise doesn’t bother me, I have to admit, the momcozy breast pump is not exactly quiet.
  • It is not super discreet, in fact it is very bulky! If you are only wearing it while you are home however, this shouldn’t be a problem.
  • You cannot bend over or lie down while using this breast pump or the milk will spill all over you.
  • The warranty is a mere 7 days! I feel like this is ridiculous. So when you get the product, it is highly recommended to test it out right away so you can decide whether you want to keep it or not. This way you can also see whether your new breast pump works.
  • Customer service – I haven’t had to contact customer service, but I have read in many different places that if you do have to contact customer service, it is a pain to get a hold of anyone from Momcozy.

Other Specifics about Momcozy Breast Pumps

How long does the momcozy pump for?

The momcozy breast pump pumps for 20 minutes straight and automatically turns off. If you do need to pump longer, you can still turn it on manually. If you do need to turn it off before the 20 minutes is over, you definitely can.

How much is a momcozy breast pump?

A momcozy wearable breast pump ranges in price depending on the model. The price range is between $69 & $90 USD.

It is so affordable and portable that I think it is the perfect breast pump if you need to pump at work. I love that this product is available for those that can’t afford or will not spend the money on expensive portable breast pumps.

How much milk does the momcozy pump hold?

The maximum amount of milk that momcozy breast pump holds is 4 oz, which is the same amount as most other breast pumps. If you tend to pump more than 4 oz at a time, then just make sure to check your breast pump periodically because overfilling it can increase the chances of leaking.

If you need to pump more for your pumping sessions or if you haven’t emptied your breasts after pumping 4 oz, then you can definitely empty the collection cup and keep pumping afterwards.

Can you lay down with momcozy pump?

You cannot lay down with a momcozy breast pump. This is because of you lay down with a momcozy, the milk will spill all over you. You will create a mess, and also waste the precious milk you pumped. Trust me, I’ve done it before and the milk spilled all over me!

I should also say that you should not bend over too much while using your momcozy breast pump as it may not pump as effectively and it may also cause leaks.

Can you sleep with Momcozy pump?

If you want to take a quick nap with your momcozy breast pump, you can close your eyes while sitting up on an angle if that is comfortable for you. However, I do not recommend lying down with it as the milk can spill out of the opening at the top. I have personally sat down on an incline and closed my eyes while the momcozy breast pump is going and it was safe because the momcozy breast pump turns off automatically after 20 minutes.

Is momcozy a closed system?

The momcozy wearable breast pump is a closed system. It will not leak if you keep it upright. Although there it a tiny hole at the top if you take out the pump, that part is used to transfer the milk into a different container (baby bottle or milk storage bag).

Is momcozy wearable breast pump loud?

The momcozy breast pump does make a bit of noise as many other pumps do. I can see how it can be too loud for some people. But it is definitely bearable and not deafening.

Does momcozy have warranty?

Momcozy has a warranty, but it is only good for 7 days. I suggest you check your breast pump as soon as you receive it in order to make sure it works for you and your family. When you are checking your breast pump, also make sure that you have all the parts because you will only have 7 days to return it.

How do you sterilize momcozy?

You can sterilize momcozy breast pump the same way you sterilize baby bottles. Simply wash your pump parts with soap and water, plop them into your bottle sterilizer and run your sterilizer.

How long does momcozy breast pump last?

The battery life is typically between 2 to 3 years, however the lifespan of the Momcozy breast pump may vary depending on usage and maintenance. The individual silicone parts can be purchased from the Momcozy website so it is easy to replace the parts if they are worn out. This means the life of the breast pump depends on the battery life of the actual portable pump.

Final Thoughts

If you want a no frills breast pump that helps you empty your breasts and maintain your milk supply without having to pay an arm and a leg for expensive pumps, this is definitely a great option. It’s so simple to use, but honestly does a great job at what it needs to do, which is to extract milk from your breasts.

The quality of the pump itself I would say is decent, however I don’t expect it to last for generations, as it has a bit of a cheaper feel to it for sure. It is, however, powerful enough to pump and extract milk. I also love how it came with a spare gasket in case the one it comes with gets loose. You do have to be careful using it because if you bend over too much, or if the parts aren’t sealed properly, you will find milk spilling all over you.
