“Neighbor Said My Baby Cries For Hours” Woman Discovers Husband Not Taking Care Of Their Child
Woman is furious after finding out her husband has been sleeping all day while he was at home with his 4-month-old daughter.
Being a working parent is never easy, but it becomes even more challenging when you have a young child. For one 29-year-old mother who we’ll call ‘Ella’, the struggle to balance work and family life became too much when she discovered her husband’s neglectful behavior towards their 4-month-old daughter.
Ella Goes Back To Work

Ella recently started working again 4 months after giving birth to her daughter. “Daycare is too expensive so my husband 35m reluctantly agreed to stay home,” she said.
Lazy Stay-at-Home Dad

Ella said of her husband, “it’s important to know that he’s been unemployed since 2021. He receives benefits. It’s also important to know that he’s extremely lazy. He doesn’t cook, clean, or help out in any way.”
Nervous About Their Arrangement

Because of his personality, Ella was nervous to keep the baby at home with her husband. However, she said, “I was nervous about leaving [my daughter] home with her father but I had no choice. When I came back from work she was clean, and sleeping. The next few times I came home he was either playing with her, feeding her, or out for a walk with her. I was happy.”
Neglectful Behavior

“A few days ago my neighbor told me that as soon as I leave, the baby cries and she cries for hours.” Ella shares that her neighbour knocked on their door one day and when he answered it, she found out that the husband was sleeping. “I concluded that he sleeps all day and night. Before I come home, he pretends to care for her.”
Drastic Action

Furious, Ella took a day off to investigate. She left home at the regular time, waited 30 minutes and then went home. “Sure enough, he was knocked out asleep with his stupid noise cancelling headphones on. I went to my daughters room, scooped her up and took her to my friends house.”
Husband Wakes Up

“I waited about two hours and I finally called him to tell him that I was coming home early,” Ella said. “He called me back saying that he can’t find the baby. He told me that he was going to call the police but before he did I told him what I did. He [started calling me awful names]”.
Confrontation and Fallout

“When I got home his mother was there “calming his nerves” because he has a panic attack. She also called me names. My husband decided to sleep at her house. Family members are telling me that I’m a terrible person.”
Justification

Ella doesn’t feel guilt for what she did. “I know that it was extreme but I don’t know if I would consider myself a bad person.”
